Lauren Hurst interviews with Ann Nyberg - WTNH

This week, I the incredible honor of sitting down with the legendary Ann Nyberg on WTNH for a conversation that’s close to my heart: how to take the first step toward fitness—no matter your age, background, or current routine.

We all know that starting something new can be intimidating, especially when it comes to health and fitness. But I’m here to remind you: It’s never too late to start. Truly. Whether you’re 40, 60, or 80, your body—and your spirit—can benefit from movement. All it takes is that very first step.

During our interview, I shared some simple, practical tips for those who feel overwhelmed or unsure of how to begin. You don’t even need fancy equipment —what you do need is to set your intention and stay consistent. A short walk, light stretching, or even gardening can set the foundation for a healthier, more active life.

I also had the joy of highlighting a few of the incredible athletes featured in my book, North of Forty: Inspiring Stories of Older Athletes. Their stories prove that with the right mindset, age is just a number. These men and women continue to train, compete, and break boundaries well into their 60s, 70s, and beyond—redefining what it means to age. They are strong, determined, and deeply inspiring—and their stories are proof that growing older doesn’t mean slowing down.

The full interview can be seen HERE.

Remember: whether you’re forty, sixty, or ninety, the best time to start is now.

Let’s move forward—together.

— Lauren
